Intro:
The Radar Interface (RI) is an A/D system built
at the observatory. It has 4 12 bit 10 MHz A/D converters. These
A/D's feed 4 16k(?) deep fifos. The device interfaces with the VME
bus in the da vme crate. The flexible sampling modes include:
- 1,2,4,8,12 bit sampling
- continuous or windowed sampling (in conjunction with the rtg
or the sps).
The ri History:
- 1970's miguel feyjoo build the first ri with 1 MHz
samplers.
- 1989 (?) edwin torres built the first ri that interfaced to
the harris computers.
- 1994 bill sisk rebuilds the ri, now runs off the vme bus first
ri was build by edwin torres and jon hagen around 1989is
workhorse has been in operation since the early 1990's .
