Background:
- The hf test was in preparation for the hf campaign starting on
13mar17.
- We needed to measure the phasing for herb and franks 8 mhz
linear pol experiment.
- We did the measurement, but we used the incorrect starting
values.
What we did:
- The datataking was single beam. I think we only took usrp
data.
- 09:00 the mesh was down. spent about 2 hours raising it.
- 11:00 start coming up, but then stopped to switch 430 tx to
generator.
- 11:45 back up, 8.175 mhz, lots of arcing. each tx had about 35
KW.
- 12:10 430 tx back up.
- 12:36 try moving ch za to see if arcing goes down..
0-> .5 deg za
- 12:38 ch za .5 -> 1 deg
- 12:39 ch za 1. -> 1.5 deg .. didn't make
any difference in the arcing.
- 14:34 loaded synth values for linear. to test the
phasing
- 14:47 update synth phase values. output to
linear_8mhz_3mar17.hfsynth
- 15:00 start measuring relative phase
- Phase was measured relative to tx 5.

The plots show the measured output
power, drive levels used (.ps) (.pdf):
- Top: measured output power (from coupler) in dbm
- middle : output power converted to KW
- bottom: drive level (in dbf).

Plasma line movies were made from the from the
usrp (25Mhz bw at 430).

Summary:
- We had lots of arcing
- The 8 MHz phase was measured for the linear pol experiment
(but we used the wrong starting values).
