R2956 did radar imaging
of venus using the sband transmitter.
Setup:
- offset pointing
- both pols
- ri 8bit sampling
for each file of each day I made a histogram of
each digitizer output as well as the undecoded total power vs time
(avged to 1 second)
- 150810:
- offset -45 asecs south
- 640 to 613 kWatts
- 8 looks.. (last look was a partial look).
- histograms of voltages and
total pwr vs time(.ps) (.pdf)
- each page is a separate look.
- the total power bump at the start of the first look was an
attenuator change
- The lack of echo at the start of files 2,3 came from the
turret speed not being set to 12deg/sec
- the lack of echo at the start of the other files, may be
from not having enough time to got from rcv to xmit (there
is a variable
- Plot showing the floor position
for each look (.ps) (.pdf)
- Note.. i think the looks in the last plots may be offset
from the first set of plots .. need to check this
- 150811:
- had trouble at start getting transmitter up. ended up
running at 624KW
- ran on wrap2.. around transit spent 15 minutes unwrapping
telescope.

- Looks like first file had xmiter off till close to the end
of the run
- rawf8 had some dropouts in the total power
- 150812:
- ran at 700kw for most of the runs
- alternate north, south (starting with north)

- looks like north has more spikes in the total power
- On the last look a pulled down about 3 inches on the tiedows
toward the end of the receive cycle.
