Programmable ac power strip
nov11
A programmable ac power strip is installed in the
dome inside the left most blue cabunet (when looking from the front).
You access it from the back door of the cabinet.
Notes:
- nov11: the blue section is broken,
We unplugged the vlbical and plugged in the lro power meter to the
white section. When doing this we found that the control cable for the
acpower strip was not plugged in so the vlbical probably hasn't been
working for awhile.
- the power strip has two sections each with 3 ac power plug ins
that turn off, on together.
- The white 3 (controlled by if1_ac2sw 2)
- The blue 3 (controlled by if1_ac2sw 4)
- if1Prog controls it via the hp3488 (#1).
- it has bits 513-515 allocated to it.
- It only uses bits 514-515. This power strip has two sections so
it needs two bits. The previous strip had 3 sections.
- White section:
- Low level control:
- You can use the low level control, or the higher level
control routines described below.
- if1 "if1_ac2sw 2" to turn on
- if1 "if1_ac2sw 5" to turn off (or any number that zeros bit 1)
- vlbical plugged in here
- acvlbical on,off
- nov11: the vlbical has been unplugged so we can use the lro
power meter (since the blue section is broken). If you want to use the
vlbical, you need to plug it back into the strip (and probably remove
the lro power meter plug).
- lro power meter plugged in here
- blue section: This section is
broken. do not use
- if1 "if1_ac2sw 4" or aclro on,off
- The led lights next to each section tell whether the section is
being commanded on (lit) or off (not lit).
- There is a main rocker switch for the ac strip that turns
the ac
power on, off to the input to all the switches.
- For the ac to come out of a section:
- the main ac rocker switch needs to be on (lit).
- The control bit for that section needs to be on.
- There is a control cable from the hp3488 (#1) to this ac pwr
switch containing the control bits to turn the two sections on, and off.
